Larry Vickman, M.D., is a Weight Management Specialist and the Medical Director of Inches and Pounds of Tampa Bay. He has been practicing in Tampa since 2003 and has both clinical experience and specialty training in this field. Dr. Vickman has successfully completed parts 1 & 2 of the ABBM Certification exam for Medical Bariatrics.

 

Dr. Vickman began his career in a Family Practice and then transitioned into Emergency Medicine which he did for 23 years. He developed the Vickman Group, a health care consulting group and began counseling physicians, nurses, and other professionals who were experiencing the signs and symptoms of career fatigue.

 

Dr. Vickman is passionate about providing consistent and up to date weight management, Hormone Replacement Therapy along with the diagnosis and management of weight-associated illnesses such as low thyroid, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol abnormalities.

Honorary fellowships: American College of Physician Executives in 2000, American College of Emergency Physicians in 1992, and American Academy of Family Physicians in 1977. Member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP).

 

His education includes an undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1967 and his MD from University of California at Los Angeles in 1971. He did his residency in Family Practice in Boise, Idaho. Additionally, he completed the Graduate Program in Health Administration at the University of Colorado College of Business in Denver with an MHA in 1991.
